We are Jane and Kayla, a mother daughter home baking duo born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. One of five children Jane knew the best way to spend time with her mother was to be in the kitchen watching and helping her bake and cook. Their love of baking was past onto myself and today mom and I spend many hours baking and creating our own memories together.
Why are we blogging? It all started with my grandmother’s recipe box and our desire to share the recipes with our family. In 2018 we decided to create a family recipe book, but the project took on a life of its own. We soon realized that some of the recipes needed some work to adapt to modern ingredients, and why stop at just sharing the recipe? Why not teach all the tricks we have learnt over the years? It soon became apparent this project was going to take a long time, so the fastest way of sharing the recipes was to start our very own blog!
After 4 years of taking pictures of our baking and adding new recipes to our box we are ready to share our recipes both old and new with family, friends, and anyone who comes across our blog. We hope that we invoke memories of loved ones passed and inspire you to create new memories with those still with us.
